Light at the end of the tunnel..holy shit its gonna be 40 deg today

The last three days have been a living nightmare.

The snow came sunday...for two days it never got above 32 degs. So it melted and refroze 3 fucking times...

Some may say whats the big deal?...the snow/ice affects every aspect of my job...it just makes everything harder than it needs to be.
Plus shoveling snow and avoiding busting my ass on the ice...really wore the fuck out of me.

FINALLY...who knew you had to beg/plead/pray for 40 degrees in november.

We already got more snow in november then we had all last year.

Snow is the worst. We woke up to a light dusting of it this morning, but the weather network keeps warning us of a huge amount of snow coming our way. I feel your pain and can empathize. Is it June yet?
Snow brightens the day. Ice storms often darken the night. The 2011 Halloween nor'easter in Connecticut was quite interesting in a destructive way. I did get to see THE RUM DIARY in Mystic. I must be able to view films that I want to see. Rain, snow, blizzard or a good nor'easter really makes the film going experience a memorable one. Johnny Depp, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Rispoli, Amber Heard, Richard Jenkins and Giovanni Ribisi were all quite good in this highly underrated film. This was a special Connecticut premiere of the film and Michael Rispoli was on hand to introduce the THE RUM DIARY. The film was based and inspired by the Hunter S. Thompson novel.

So what is my point? Weather can set the tone or the mood of an event. It leaves its imprint.

Anything inspired by Hunter S. Thompson must be great. I have not seen THE RUM DIARY, but will add it to my list to watch during those hours in the night when sleep escapes me.
I was just sitting on my enclosed porch looking out the windows and thinking the world outside looks so dismal and forlorn. Perhaps the weather outside is setting my mood, as I stare at my work and my thoughts travel to dark corners.
I loved THE RUM DIARY. Many didn't. I am not sure if some were unhappy with bringing Hunter S. Thompson work to the screen or not. It was a quirky film. I loved it. I love films. I am a very visual person and I get a lot of inspiration from film, particularly older films from the 50s and 60s. There were so many good directors and other filmmakers working then. We have but a handful left. But we still have their films.
