I'm sorry but just had to laugh at this......I can just picture him lifting his leg. He loves his Mom he just knows something is a little different and he needed to mark his territory......

Perhaps merely marking his territory?

Hmmm ... Interesting.

Maybe he doesn't hate it.
Perhaps he just wants it to smell a bit more familiar.

Whatever happened, I hope you kept your knee.
Hugs, B

I did not know. Wow. Perhaps that wood ws marked before, it was "ingrained" Not sure varnish will seal it up. I did have a cat that marked everything. He wanted to be domiant over me. I loved him, but I lost him. Glad you can ride some.

I had no idea either. But even as the truth was dawning on me, I was snorting coffee down my nose at the image of your dog's attitude to the whole thing!

    Quoting  :

In the late 1960th, when I was young and had my first riding lessons
I knew someone who had lost almost all of his right leg during WW II.
He used a side saddle using the horn above the stirrup to stabilize his weight.
I'm sure you will find a way to ride again!
For someone like you giving up is not an option!

I was so glad to see you writing here again. This place needs great people like you. I’ve been sad to read what I have. So sorry to hear about changes in your life but it does appear that you are on an upward journey again, maybe slowly but still surely 💕
