Beware

This could be subtitled "Beware of what you ask for", or "Beware of the thin end of the wedge."

Some bloggers bemoan content here which is not BDSM oriented. A favourite target seems to be a vampire but it could just as easily be me. I post all kinds of shit, according to my mood, trips into the bush with my grandkids, tales of my life long ago, or simply gloating over the summer swelter here when half the world seems to be frozen solid.

I challenge anyone to say it's not about BDSM. Surely if people are seeking partners or friends they to get to know each other. Blogs reveal a tremendous amount about the writer, probably far more than they intend to reveal. It's just a pity that more people don't post. There are clues about social and political attitudes, finances, sense of humour, intelligence and education and far more. And it's an ongoing revelation, unlike a profile which is merely a snapshot.

Also, who exactly is going to decide what material is relevant? Alt moderators? Shhh. Ok. You can stop laughing now. How about some random dude who isn't very interested in my life and just wants to know what toys I have in my cupboard and how I would propose to use them on his sorry ass? Well, to those guys, I have a practical suggestion. Instead of trying to shut down content you don't like, encourage people to post stuff you do like. Lead from the front. Ask questions. Spark discussions. Get people interested.

The earth shall inherit the meek.

The difference between you and Vlad the Vampire gimp is that you don't sell yourself for free gold like he does. I personally would like to see more of you and less of him, for he is a person who shows no respect for others, only his self gratification. You see him in blogs, you see him in comments to photos and videos, and you see him on status updates. How are members suppose to, or should they be expected to sift through these comments before finding something relevant.

To each his own but for me, this idiot is missing his village somewhere.

arero replies on 1/29/2019 3:37 pm:
If I thought I was going to get free gold I might consider it though I have banned him from my blog after politely requesting him not to post his pics and lyrics here. Elsewhere it's easy enough to ignore him, although he does have some good things to say sometimes.

I personally love to read the blogs. As you have written you learn a lot about the various writers...and I am more attracted to personality, character, and creativity than I am to what toys are in your closet.

Vlad imho is like a vermin infestation on Alt. He not only posts on every possible outlet, he pops into cam rooms and posts never ending lyrics. It's like he is incapable of original thought and is beyond thirsty for little pieces of digital gold that do not amount to much.

Got to admire his energy and dedication though, and it's all part of the process of revealing his personality. I don't inhabit the chat rooms but I imagine his presence might be harder to ignore there.

Wow! Love it! and what a sensitive creature humour is. Such a delicate art to master , the many shades of it that meander through the woods, sometimes dark, sometimes dry. Of course you must use it wisely and succinctly less you poison your own work !

Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered!

arero replies on 1/29/2019 4:01 pm:
I am no master of any delicate art I'm afraid. One member found my attempt at humour so offensive she banned me.

The whole idea of restricting what people write about is anathema to me - except for the stuff I think they shouldn't write about of course

I always blog about what I want, and never let others define who I am. I am of the opinion if they don't like what I write, they don't have to read my blog. Besides I don't write it for them; I write for me. The ones that complain that we don't write about BDSM stuff are just attention whores anyway.

An ounce of doing is worth a pound of talk

Guess we are all looking for attention of some sort. Even when we write about calves and tractors and scalding pigs

Funny that cos here comes the jolly roger. Get set to lose some flesh from a good keel hauling. I just stewed up the next episode from my pot of emptiness. Actually I cooked up some meat and mushrooms in it.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered!

Each to their own, and we're not all going to like each other's blog content. I enjoy some and avoid others - just as I'm sure people do with mine. There's plenty of room for us all

Let's talk. It's how we learn about yesterday and comprehend today.

There's not many I avoid but there are a few I skip if I'm not in the mood. I'm not sure if that amounts to the same thing?

Intellectuals, free thinkers or just about anyone who posts whatever comes to mind, something that might be humorous or thought provoking, it is these people who are the target of the mindless masses. The mindless masses hate free thinkers. They always will. They hate free thinkers. They have no mental capacity to understand anything outside their pitiful and empty lives. Their heroes are the hangmen one might see or read about in THE OX-BOW INCIDENT.

I can see free Gold Membership as an incentive if you want to read and send messages. For me, I would rather not have a gold membership. A person can communicate all they want in these Blogs. I try to come up with something every day. Maybe that's not a good idea because some days I just have to force a thought. Other days, if you are in the groove, try to get right.

I like this George Harrison lyric. It speaks volumes. "Watch out now, take care ...Beware of soft shoe shufflers ...Dancing down the sidewalks..."

Dear Punkin you have words of wisdom inside your head and heart, you just need to let them out. Why use someone else's when yours are original.

Aww Thank you. That is very sweet of you to say. I think some times the words in my head just need to explode on a page of some sort. I have little scribblings all over. Many will never see the light of day.

And...to be honest some song lyrics have the most magical ways to convey what we feel. "Art is not life. Art is a reflection of life." Heartbreak, joy, angst, love are not feelings that are unique to one person, they are emotions that some times be best expressed by those who have fine tuned their art and can truly reflect.

I think "skip" and "avoid" are two different things (in my world, anyway)
There are those I avoid, eg I have made a well-informed decision not to read them for a variety of reasons; and then there are those that I skip some times due to lack of time, eg it's not that I don't want to read them, it's just that I haven't formed a close friendship with them, so they're not in my priority reading list - no offense intended.

Let's talk. It's how we learn about yesterday and comprehend today.

"skip" and "avoid" are two different things as you say. "avoid" and never go back. "skip" and maybe check it out at another time.
